Youtube just added a new feature called Quick Capture allowing people to record and upload video within youtube. (via CBC) I think this will be useful for vloggers. I’ve never been a big fan of the talking head video but for some this will be appealing. It may be something I’d use for quick video messages between friends and family. But like anything else, it will evolve and be used in more creative ways than i can currently imagine.
It seems the world of online video storage is becoming quite competitive and we are the beneficiaries. But also, it makes the choice difficult. Although, this page provides a nice visual for quality, is there a matrix available rating the various services, features and quality?

Thanks for linking to my site. I’m just about to release an ebook of a comparison of 25 video sharing sites. At the end there is a matrix a little like the one you suggested, however just covers my ratings and whether revenue sharing is available. What sort of feature would you like compared?
In a bit of an accident, I ended up making a “talking gut” and a talking head video for YouTube last night. Wave of the future, or flabby fad?
Dean,
Thanks for the tip on YouTube. I might now find a use for the site – I don’t video at all and my computers don’t have isight or a webcam so I don’t use those technologies. Maybe at school I’ll find a use for it – we’ll see.

Joel,
I think features like:
Revenue Sharing
Quick Capture
Storage limits
Embedding options
Built in blogs
There may be more but those are a few I’ve seen in some sharing sites.
Look forward to your work, send me a link when you finish.
Hi Dean,
The first rough draft of the video matrix can be found here. You have my email if you want to discuss!
Hi Dean this was the topic on Nora Young’s technology show on CBC radio the other night. It sounds like the big media outlets are going to start using it.
You also can grab your phone and wirelessly capture yourself directly to YouTube. Of course if you have Bluetooth in your PC or laptop. And if you’re running Mobiola on your mobile phone.
