Tuesday, students from Craik were able to present their learning with cellphones to Liz Kolb and about 20 ustream guests. The stream was a bit wonky but I did manage to record the hour in 3 segments. The last recording is likely the most interesting as it features more of a conversation with students, Liz and Ustream questions.

Thanks for sharing this presentation. You have a lot of really great research material and it’s good to see mobile learning moving from theory into actual practice. I found the discussion about the parents reactions to the use of mobiles very interesting.
I spoke with a teacher who had a similar experience after introducing blogs into his classroom. The parents were very upset and didn’t see the educational value. He held a “Blogging 101″ class for parents and explained the benefits of blogging and then had the parents set up their own blogs. Once they started blogging and learned more about the technology, they were much more open and supportive. I think, as you point out, that it’s important to educate parents (and other teachers) on how technology will be used in an educational context.

Wow technology is indeed affecting all parts of life. I guess this post is an answer to all the people who think cell phone is made just for talking to people, keeping alarm, checking time, music and playing games etc. This defiantly is called moving in right direction. Thanks for great post…..
