On Monday, June 2nd, we lost a great man, Dr. George Falk. George was a great leader in education in our province who had a profound impact on many lives. George love of drama and music as well as special education will leave a legacy most of us could only hope to have.
George was a personal friend and mentor to my eldest daughter. I spent much of the day producing a 12 minute video for the funeral which will be held Sunday afternoon. Here’s a snippet of the that video that includes the song my daughter wrote especially for George.
As a man of faith, George leaves us for a better place. He will be missed but not forgotten.

This is terribly sad news and tears roll down my face as I type this. Dr. Falk was a wonderful man who inspired everyone who was blessed enough to know him. He will be greatly missed. Again, Meredith’s song is such a wonderful tribute to a truly wonderful educator!
There are very few people who have had such a positive impact on lives of youth like Dr. Falk. The video shown today was a great tribute to Dr. Falk. Well done.
A moving tribute to a hero. Dean, your daughter’s song opens my heart to the life of a man who lived well within the circle of learning in your province. An empty feeling…the world a better place for his contributions to the lives of those he motivated to reach for something better than they thought they could be, Thanks for honoring the memory of his presence in our world.

I remember George, all excited, saying “You’ve got to hear this album!” It was his brother’s and it was Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Thus, at 10, his love of music had already begun. Thankyou so much for this lovely musical tribute to George.
