Scott,

Definitely time is the big issue. The tools are there and certainly easier to use but I can' t imagine the actual crafting of video getting a whole lot easier. Is writing easier today? In some ways but it still requires time, thought and sweat to write well.

I'm glad to see the introduction of tools such as voicethread, animoto and others to provide easier entry but it will never replace a well designed, and produced video

Good idea, Dean. I think you and David are on the right track. If we model the use of video more, then our staff just might join in. I like what Courosa did with his course trailer. I'm sure my staff might think it a waste of time to do that for a class students are required to take, but it does show an excitement about what they are teaching. So why not take the extra step? Why not?

Dean: I think you made an important point about education being text-based, and the contributions of the "network" typically do not include video. As you mention, with the popularity and potential impact of video, we should all rethink how we create content to start producing messages that incorporate video, or are videos themselves.
