RSS allows all the information on topics on interest to find me instead of me having to find it. I no longer sift through news sites or surf websites to find information. Instead I log into my reader and it's all waiting for me. For me, the most powerful aspect of RSS has been being able to subscribe to things like Google News or Technorati RSS feeds for searches I'm interested in. This has allowed me to follow educational technology legislation very closely as well as to do searches on my own local district so that I'm always aware of what's going on. RSS has changed my information input systems dramatically!

Dean: I use this Cisco video as an opening for my RSS presentations.

Where people subscribe to people...

And we're more powerful together than we could ever be apart...

I use RSS to keep in touch with other teachers from around the world and get a wee look into their thoughts. I am a busy teacher and when new podcasts etc from other classes come in I can see easily through my blogline account.
Dean you can skype me if it helps - not sure about the time frame (when Kathy and I talk it is 9 am here and about 3.30 pm on the day before for her).

Well, without RSS/Atom, there would be no independent blog aggregators. Most certainly not SaskBlogs. :)

Cheers,
