The OLPC project is officially underway as students in Nigeria received the first shipment of laptops. CNet has some nice photos of the launch.

I’m happy for the kids who get one, but I wish there was more Canadian would do for helping children get good water too.
Great to see these kids get on to the information highway. I have never seen those laptops before. Green and white and they look pretty light, judging by how the kids pick them up.
[...] As Negroponte said, the hardest part of the whole project is the launch. The company many times needed to get advice form buisness people, only to have to do the exact opposite.
