Saw this ad this morning on TV. Although it’s from Cisco, the message is pretty powerful. Quotes like:

A world

  • “where people subscribe to people, not magazines”
  • “where books rewrite themselves” (you’ll notice a shot of wikipedia)
  • “where you can drag and drop people where you want them to go”
  • “where libraries travel across the world”

…and my favourite:

  • “where we’re more powerful together than we ever could be apart”

    I used this in my class today. We had discussed the Time Person of the Year article yesterday and a bunch of students commented on the class blog about why they were the person of the year. I enjoyed their answers, but it seemed like most of them missed the point of the Time article in their comments. I saved this commercial off of YouTube, converted it, and brought it in for them to watch. I thought that the visual might help more with the person of the year thinking.
