Youtube announced they hope to put every music video ever online. Read the full story.
Nostalgia is setting in as I recall the early days of MTV and watching my college roomate sitting in front of the TV for hours watching this new thing called music videos.

I applaud this move by youtube, since the music channels long ago departed from being about advertising new music. They now dedicate the majority of their programming time to sitcoms, reality shows and advertisements. What is even more absurd is the emergence of new ‘music’ channels, such as Punchmuch and CMT’s Power Trip in Canada, that actually expect their viewers to send a text message to vote on which videos are played. This is nothing more than a cash grab by the phone companies, as they charge for each of these text messages. One cannot vote for videos in any other way, for example online, without charge. These channels, in effect, are now charging their viewers to watch advertisements. Thankfully this move by Youtube now allows these channels to drop the moniker of ‘music stations’ and simply admit that they are just another channel, full of all the advertisements we find on every other channel.
