		<description>I think the problem with the question of "why do we have to learn this?" - is the answer, in many cases, is "You Don't"

Since this post has a Physics flavour I will use the example of Quantum Physics that is in the Physics 11 curiculum. It was a small part of the course, likely only 2 or 3 classes and completely without context. Having been on curriculum writing teams, I know how things get this way - but we may need to fix the curriculum before we are really ready to have a good answer.</description>
